All other burgers must be wrapped at the start of the competition, and burgers must be unwrapped individually only after the previous burger has been eaten or placed completely into the mouth. Dunking in water or any other beverage is permitted. Chipmunking at the end of the 60 minutes is permitted. Only whole burgers eaten or in the mouth at the end of the 60 minutes will be counted. All burgers in the mouth at the end of the 60 minutes must be swallowed (can be after the timer has elapsed but must be filmed) to be counted towards the eaters total. An open mouth after the last burger has been eaten must be shown in the video for that burger to count towards the final total. The time taken to eat the 20 hamburgers will be determined only once an open mouth is shown to the camera.

*NEW* Exclusive CompetitiveEating.com.au Embroidered Logo for those that finish 20 cheeseburgers in one sitting!

That’s right folks! If you power on and finish them all in less than an hour, we’ll send you a rare, exclusive CompetitiveEating.com.au embroidered patch. If you can eat 20 burgers in one sitting, you deserve to be recognised as a Competitive Eater! This is for both the Amateur and Pro categories. Maximum time allowed is 1 hour.

Please note: You don’t need to finish 20 in 60 to enter the competition. It may be that at the end of 60 minutes you may have finished enough to get a 3rd, 2nd, or even 1st prize! So even if you don’t finish 20 in 60 minutes, make sure you enter because you could still win!

This is a national competition. We’ve listed the McDonalds Swanson Street store, but you can do it in any McDonalds restaurant anywhere in Australia. All you need to do is film your effort from start to finish, then upload your video online and let us know about it.

There are a number of ways you can submit your video:

  1. Post your video (Facebook Live or an upload) on your Facebook wall and tag our Facebook page in your post (@CompEating)
  2. Post your video to Youtube, Vimeo, or any other video hosting service and link to our web site (http://www.CompetitiveEating.com.au)
  3. Direct Facebook message us your video

You MUST have a timer, clock, smart phone or device that displays a timer in the shot for the entirety of the video. The first 30 seconds of the video must be shown at normal speed. The rest of the video can be edited and sped up to a maximum of 16x, slowing down to normal speed in the last 30 seconds. You can submit an edited video for your entry, however you must retain the original, unedited video for us to review should that be required. Anyone who enters and cannot supply that original video when requested will be disqualified from the competition. This includes those going over the 20 minutes attempting to get their embroidered patch.

Entries will be accepted up to 5pm Friday 30 November, or when the offer ends, whichever is soonest. So don’t delay, we don’t know how long these $1 burgers are going to last!
