Rules (if applicable) : Eaters will have 10 minutes to eat as many [brand name?] Hot Cross Buns as possible. Hot Cross Buns must be eaten whole to count, and must be eaten sequentially. Only after the current Hot Cross Bun has been consumed (including any dropped components on the plate) will the Hot Cross Bun be counted as eaten. The person who eats the most Hot Cross Buns in the 10 minute period will be deemed the winner and will be awarded the major prize. Dunking of the Hot Cross Buns in water is permitted. Cups will be provided. All Hot Cross Bun fragments within the cup must be consumed by way of eating. Should a cup contain a thick slurry of disintegrated Hot Cross Buns, the judge may require the eater to consume the contents of the cup. The judges decision on this will take place during the competition and the judges decision is final. Chimpmunking at the end of the competition is allowed. No other food or drink other than has been provided can be consumed during the competition. In the event of a tie, an "Eat Off" will occur, where the tied contestants (2 or more) will each be given a Hot Cross Bun to consume as fast as possible. A cup and water will be provided. After the conclusion of the competition, and the start of the "Eat Off", the contestants are not permitted to leave the competition area. This includes bathroom breaks. The person who consumes the Hot Cross Bun the fastest showing an open mouth (to confirm the Hot Cross Bun has been fully consumed) will be deemed the winner. Any contestant that vomits within the 10 minute competition period will be disqualified.

This Sunday it’ll be “Sun’s out, buns out!” at the Eat Street Northshore Hot Cross Bun Eating Competition! Pro’s and Amateur eaters alike will test their capacity as they strive to eat as many Hot Cross Buns as possible in 10 minutes. Made locally, these buns will be soft, delicious, full of fruit, and incredibly delicious. But will that be enough for some of Australia’s best eaters to set numbers never before seen in Australia? You’ll have to come along to find out!

There’s $1,500 worth of prizes up for grabs. Want the big money? Sign up and compete in the Professional division against Australia’s best. Or if you think you can take top spot from the every-day person, then sign up for the Amateur division. What better way to spend Easter Sunday than with a mountain of Hot Cross buns!

Amateurs will start the competition at 6pm sharp on the main stage.

Professionals will start the competition at 7pm sharp on the main stage.
