Rules (if applicable) : Each competitor will be provided with a plate of Loaded Fries consisting of fries, cheese, gravy and other toppings. Competitors must place their hands flat on the table prior to the start of the competition. The judge will count in the start of the competition with a 3-2-1 count down. Competitors must keep their hands flat on the table until the competition officially commences. Bottled water will be provided Pouring of water over the Loaded Fries is not permitted. Excessive spilling of water onto the Loaded Fries is not permitted. If the judge deems this to be deliberate, you may be instantly disqualified. If the judge deems this to be accidental, you may also be instantly disqualified. This will be entirely at the judge’s discretion. Ensure drinking is done cleanly. Picnic style rules WILL NOT APPLY for this competition. Hands can be used to consume the loaded fries. All fries and toppings must be consumed for the competitor to be deemed as finished. This includes any spilled food on the table or floor. Ensure eating is done in a way that will show a clean plate at the end of the competition. At the end of the 10 minutes, chimpmunking will be allowed. Water may be consumed once the timer has elapsed. A strict 30 second period to present an open mouth will be enforced. Should an empty mouth not be shown, a 100g penalty will be allocated. If a competitor ties with another competitor by completing all of the loaded fries within the 10 minutes, but does not show an empty open mouth, they will receive a 100g penalty and will place behind their competitor. The winner and places will be awarded to those who finish all of their loaded fries from first, second and third. Should the loaded fries not be completed within the 10 minute period, weights will be taken and the prizes awarded to who has consumed the most loaded fries within the 10 minute period in that order.

Brought to you by Makikihi Fries, it’s the 2025 Meatstock Loaded Fries Throwdown! We’ll be loading up NZ’s best fries with gravy, cheese, and who knows what else for our first competition of the year. Contestants will have just 10 minutes to down a massive plate of carefully crafted loaded fries, with prizes being awarded to first, second and third in Professional and Amateur categories.

The Open/Professional division will have 2kg of fries drenched in gravy, cheese, and other toppings and only 10 minutes to finish it. The Amateur category will have a 1kg serve, also with 10 minutes on the clock.
